Abstract:

The purpose of the research is to reveal the factors that are determining on the performance of small-scale accommodation enterprises. In this scope, the activities of small-scale were first comparatively analyzed and then the distinctive characteristics of effective and non-effective were revealed. The research data was collected through face-to-face interviews from 24 accommodation companies operating in Manavgat, one of Turkey’s most important tourist areas. In the analysis of data entered data-oriented coverage analysis and non-parametric differentiation tests were used. Analysis found that only 6 hotels were active, while the remaining 18 hotels were not active. However, the conclusion has been that there are significant differences between the business in terms of proximity to the sea, recurring customer rates, availability rates, form of activity and type of pension.
