Abstract:

The study in which the "Family Planning and Sex Education" course given to nursing students assesses the impact of students' attitudes towards sexual education and the "namus" understanding of women is a semi-experienced type. It was held between October 2020 and February 2021. Students who received the course "Family Planning and Sex Education" in the Department of Nursing at Aksaray University have formed a training group of students who are in the same class but do not have the course. Pre-test measurements in both groups were performed with "Student Presentation Form", "Sexual Education Attitude Scale" and "Women's Namus Understanding Attitude Scale". After the pre-test, the training group took the course "Family Planning and Sex Education" for 14 weeks, while the control group was not trained. After the completion of the course, the two teams were tested. Pre-test, last-test measurements are applied to both groups with simultaneous and the same measurement tools. While there was no significant difference between the group in the pre-tests, the scale score of the training group in the final test was significantly higher than the control group (p = 0,000). The "Family Planning and Sex Education" course is effective in enhancing students' attitudes towards sexual education and the namus understanding of women.
