20. yüzyılın başında dilbilim alanında başlayıp sonra diğer bilim dallarında da yaygınlık gösteren yapısalcılık 1970’lardan sonra gelişen post-yapısalcılığa rağmen Türk akademisinde edebiyat biliminde hala sıkça kullanılan bir yöntemdir. Her bir metni ortak bir yapı merkezinde ele almanın önemini vurgulayan yapısalcılığa göre metinler önceden belirlenmiş kurallar kapsamında analiz edilmelidir. Bu bağlamda romanlar şu başlıklar altında incelenmektedir: isim-içerik ilişkisi, olay örgüsü, bakış açısı ve anlatıcı, zaman, mekân, kişi kadrosu. Roman tahliline yönelik çalışmalarda sıkça kullanılan bu şablonun eserin anlaşılmasında önemli bir role sahip olduğu vurgulanmaktadır. Bu araştırmada söz konusu yöntemin uygulanacağı roman Tanzimat dönemi romanlarından Araba Sevdası adlı eserdir. İlk realist roman olarak anılan Araba Sevdası 1896’da yayınlanmış olup Türk edebiyatı açısından büyük öneme sahiptir. Recaizâde Mahmut Ekrem’e ait olan eserde Batılılaşma, aylaklık, züppe tipi, yabancılaşma gibi meseleler de sorgulanmaktadır. Dolayısıyla o dönemde yaşayan belirli bir insan tipinin de izlerinin görüldüğü eser, hala pek çok araştırmanın inceleme nesnesidir. Bu araştırmada ise başlangıç safhasındaki Türk romanın yapısal özelliklerine dikkat çekilmektedir. Sonuç olarak inceleme nesnesi olan romanda yapısal olarak bazı farklılıklar gözlemlenmektedir. Özellikle zaman, mekân gibi bazı hususlarda romanın ardıllarına öncülük ettiği söylenebilir.
Structurality, which began in the field of linguistics at the beginning of the 20th century and then became popular in other disciplines of science, is still a method that is frequently used in literary science in the Turkish Academy, despite the post-structualism that developed after the 1970s. According to the structurality that emphasizes the importance of dealing with each text in a common building center, the texts should be analyzed within the framework of predefined rules. In this context, the novels are studied under the following titles: the name-content relationship, the plot of events, the perspective and the narrative, time, space, person staff. It is highlighted that this template, which is often used in the study of the novel analysis, has an important role in understanding the work. In this study, the method will be applied to the novel Tanzimat period novel is the work called Car Love. The first realist novel called Car Love was published in 1896 and has a great importance in Turkish literature. In the work that belongs to Mahmut Ekrem in Recaizâde, questions such as Westernization, distinction, type of zupé, foreignization are also questioned. Therefore, the work of a particular type of human being living in that period, which is also seen in its traces, is still the subject of many research. In this study, it is noted the structural characteristics of the Turkish novel in the early stages. As a result, some structural differences are observed in the novel, which is the subject of the study. It can be said that in some aspects, especially in time, space, the novel is leading the followers.
Structuralism, which started in the field of linguistics at the beginning of the 20th century and then became widespread in other disciplines, is still a frequently used method in Turkish literature despite the post-structuralism that developed after the 1970s. According to the structuralism, which emphasizes the importance of handling each text in a common structure center, the texts should be analyzed within the scope of pre-determined rules. In the department of New Turkish Literature, great importance is attached to the structuralist approach in novel studies. In this context, novels are examined under the following headings: name-content relationship, plot, point of view and narrator, time, place, character staff. It is emphasized that this template, which is frequently used in studies on novel analysis, has an important role in understanding the novel. The novel in which the method in question will be applied in this research is a late Ottoman novel named Araba Sevdası. Araba Sevdası, known as the first realist novel, was published in 1896 and is of great importance in terms of Turkish literature. In the novel by Recaizâde Mahmut Ekrem, issues such as Westernization, idleness, snobbery type, and alienation are also questioned. Therefore, the work, in which the traces of a certain type of person in that period can be seen, is still the object of many studies. In this study, attention will be drawn to the structural features of the Turkish novel in its early stage.
