This study was conducted in the years 2014-2015 in order to identify the harmful insects found in the Olive Gardens in the village of Dara and Derik, Nusaybin and Kızıltepe districts. The samples were made in 8 different gardens where chemical entries (pesticides, fertilizers, etc.) were not applied, each with at least 30-40 olive trees. In the samples, objective attractive traps, visual colour traps, hit method, eye control method, and laboratory studies have also been applied to culture method. In this study, a total of 7 types of harmful insects belonging to 7 families in 4 teams were detected. Of these specified species, Euphyllura straminea Loginova (Hem.Psyllidae, Prays oleae Bern. (Lepidoptera: Praydidae), Closterotomus (Calocoris) trivialis Costa (Hemiptera: Miridae), Bactrocera oleae Gmel (Diptera: Tephritidae) and Phloeotribus scarabaeoides Bernard (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) have been identified as the first-degree harmful species in terms of damage, spread and intensity. In addition to these species, Parlatoria oleae Colvee (Hemiptera, Diaspididae) and Agalmatium flavescens Oliver (Hemiptera: Issidae) are found to be second-largest harmful species in low-intensity olive gardens.
This study was carried out to determine insect pest species in the olive orchards of Dara village and Derik, Nusaybin, and Kızıltepe districts in Mardin province in 2014-2015. The samples were collected in 8 different orchards with at least 30-40 olive trees each without chemical inputs (pesticide, fertilizer etc.). In the samplings, sexual traps, visual color traps, beat sheet sampling method, visual control method and cultural method (for immature stages reared on their hosts) were applied in laboratory studies. As a result of the study, it was determined that 7 pest species belonging to 7 families from 4 orders. Of these identified species, it was determined that Euphyllura straminea Loginova (Hem.:Psyllidae), Prays oleae Bern.(Lepidoptera: Praydidae), Closterotomus (Calocoris) trivialis Costa (Hemiptera: Miridae), Bactrocera oleae Gmel (Diptera: Tephritidae) are Phloeotribus scarabaeoides Bernard (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) are the main harmful species in terms of damage, spread and density. In addition to these species, it was determined that Parlatoria oleae Colvee (Hemiptera, Diaspididae) and Agalmatium flavescens Oliver (Hemiptera: Issidae) These species were found the second pest species in this study.
