Abstract:

Understanding is a problem of being. Human-being is responsible for answering the questions about things in general why they exist and what they are. The name of being in responsibility is, for me, existence. According the achieving of responsiblity, someone can say I lived/did or I didn’t/live., Since started with the Ancient Greece, philosophy has been the ground of the understanding problem. In those times, giving the meaning was exploring something beyond and outside of the human. Contrary to this, in modern times this sitiution changed as creating the meaning through putting the humanbeing himself/herself into the center of life. Basically I will examine this two different forms of meanings. Especially I will criticise the second form of the meaning. Lastly I will indicate another using of meaning which comes from Islamic thought as teaching the meaning. By giving this last unrefined claim my purpose is to open a discussion between Islam and current thought.
