Abstract:

Purpose - This study aims to do the validity and reliability study in the example of the "work violence scale" of 3 dimensions and 9 articles called "oral violence", "physical violence" and "sex violence" developed to be exposed to violence at work. The relevant scale allows employees to evaluate the workplace violence, exposure conditions. In this sense, we see that the number of measurement tools that are carried out in our country is limited to the number of reliability and validity studies. Therefore, it is predicted that the scale of workplace violence adaptation to Turkey will greatly meet this need. Method - The first stage of adjustment is the translation of the scale from the original language to Turkish, the five-step translation method applied by (Beaton vd, 2000) has been applied. After this stage, the scale of Turkishalization was applied to 303 participants. First in the study, the linguistic equivalence of the scale was implemented. Then, by applying the Explanatory Factor Analysis to the scale, the three-factor structure in the original scale was tested. The next stage tested the structural validity by applying the Verifying Factor Analysis to the scale, the scale also determined the internal consistency of the scale by applying the Cronbach Alpha test. Results - As a result of all the processes made, the original scale, consisting of 3 dimensions and 9 items, is adapted to Turkey without any changes. Debate - The result of the processes made is the conclusion that the scale can also be used as a measurement tool adapted to Turkey as the article is used.
