Abstract:

Epidemic diseases affecting the world, the population growth, the developing technologies also change the structure of services in the health sector. Due to the benefits it provides, home health care services (ESH) are increasingly demanded by patients every day. This is why researchers are increasing interest in the Home Health Services Rotation Problem (ESHRP). In this study, ESHRP was identified on the basis of the examinations carried out in the relevant unit of a State Hospital providing ESH in Ankara. Due to the limitation of resources in the hospitals, more than one vehicle must be used. Therefore, ESHRP has been taken into consideration very roundly. In addition, the problem is in a time window structure in order to ensure the patient's requests are fulfilled in time. In addition, increasing the patient’s demands addressed in ESHRP and reducing environmental impacts are two important goals. The reduction of environmental impacts can be achieved by reducing the carbon emissions of the vehicles used in ESH. Therefore, the problem addressed in this study is defined as a multi-purpose, multi-tour and time-window home health care rotating problem (CTZP-ESHRP). The main target programming (HP) method has been used to solve the problem. Based on the data obtained from a hospital serving in Ankara, the test problems were produced and the solutions found with the scenario analysis were evaluated in such a way as to guide the decision-making process.
