Abstract:

The aim of this study is to identify the importance of the movements and strength subjects in the new MEB science and technology course and to make an assessment of the conceptual errors that primary school students have about the movements and strength subjects by comparing with the results obtained from both literature and this research. Research has a non-experimental quantum research design. According to the research method, it is in the scan model. The sample of the study consists of a total of 125 primary school students studying in 3 different primary schools in the center of Chankırı. An open end question was asked to students in order to learn the knowledge of the students of primary education about the movement and strength. The number of correct answers students give to the question varies according to class levels. This difference is estimated as a result of the teaching of different parts of the theme of movement and strength in different classes. The results of this study show that students have conceptual errors in some subjects, such as the relationship between movement and strength, vibration, gravity and balanced forces. These conceptual errors that students have were submitted by discussing by taking advantage of literature and the results of this study.
