Abstract:

Ismail Cetin Efendi (1942-2011) was born in Hazro district of Diyarbakır. He grew up in a well-known family as a scholar in the region where he was born. He is a man of heart who has taken the caliphate from the Naqshbandiyya, Qadiriyya, Kubrewiyya, Suhrawardiyya and Chishtiyya sects. He has received permission from five qirats: Asim, Nafi, Sham, Ibn Kathir and narrated shaz qirats. The knowledge, works and lives of the scholars, which are the only legacies of the scholars, guide us. In this direction, the purpose of Ismail Çetin Efendi is to convey and explain the creed of “Ahl as-sunnah ve'l-jamaat” to people in a correct way. Turkish Arabic and Turkish published nearly fifty works by Ismail Cetin Efendi, who is a well-known writer. Ismail Efendi opened his own book in Isparta in 1983 under the name “Dilara Stationery” and published his works in a stationery shop. The works he has written are works written not only in the field of Sufism, but also in a way that will shed light on many issues of the Islamic religion. Ismail Cetin Efendi stated that sufism is not a science that emerged later, but on the contrary, it has existed since the time of the Prophet as a way of life, if not as a concept, is the science of Sufism wherever Islam exists. Although Ismail Çetin Efendi is a scholar who stands out in the aspect of sufism, he emphasized the common points of sufism and fiqh science by emphasizing that they are not branches of science that are separated from each other. This work contains information about Ismail Çetin Efendi's life in short, the content of his works and sufi thought.
