Bu çalışmanın amacı, güreş eğitim merkezlerinde eğitim gören güreşçilerin temel psikolojik ihtiyaçları ile depresyon düzeylerinin çeşitli değişkenler (sosyal çevre, anne-baba öğrenim durumu ve aile gelir düzeyi) açısından incelenmesidir. Araştırma, 2008–2009 sezonunda Gençlik ve Spor Genel Müdürlüğü’ne bağlı farklı bölgelerdeki 23 Güreş Eğitim Merkezinde eğitim gören 12–17 yaş arası 409 güreşçi öğrenciye uygulanmıştır. Çalışmada veri toplama aracı olarak; “Temel Psikolojik İhtiyaçlar Ölçeği” ile “Çocuklar İçin Depresyon Ölçeği” kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin istatiksel analizinde; değişkenlere göre Kruskal Wallis testi kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, Temel Psikolojik İhtiyaçlar Ölçeği verileri sonucunda; sosyal çevre değişkeni köy olan güreşçilerin ilçe, il ve büyükşehir olanlara göre özerklik ihtiyaçlarının, baba öğrenim düzeyi ilkokul ve ortaokul olanların, lise ve üniversite olanlara göre yeterlik ve ilişki ihtiyaçlarının, anne öğrenim düzeyi ortaokul olanların ilkokul, lise ve üniversite olanlara göre ilişki ihtiyaçlarının, aile gelir düzeyi 800 TL ve altında olanların 800 TL üzerinde olanlara göre özerklik ihtiyaçlarının yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir. Çocuklar İçin Depresyon Ölçeği verileri sonucunda, sosyal çevre değişkeni köy olan güreşçilerin ilçe, il ve büyükşehir olanlara göre, aile gelir düzeyi 800 TL ve altında olanların 800 TL üzeri olanlara göre depresyon düzeylerinin yüksek olduğu, baba ve anne öğrenim düzeyi değişkenine göre ise depresyon düzeyleri arasında anlamlı bir farklılığın olmadığı görülmüştür. Sonuç olarak güreş eğitim merkezlerindeki güreşçilerin sosyal çevrelerinin, anne-baba eğitim durumlarının ve aile gelir düzeylerinin temel psikolojik ihtiyaçlarını; sosyal çevre ile aile gelir durumlarının da depresyon düzeylerini etkilediği saptanmıştır
The aim of this study is to study the basic psychological needs of competitors who are trained in competition training centers and the levels of depression in terms of various variables (social environment, parent education status and family income level). The study was applied to 409 competing students aged 12-17 who were trained at 23 Competition Education Centers in different regions associated with the Youth and Sports General Directorate in the 2008-2009 season. In the study, the data collection tool was used; "The Scale of Basic Psychological Needs" and "The Scale of Depression for Children". In the statistical analysis of the data obtained; according to the variables, the Kruskal Wallis test was used. According to the results of the research, the Basic Psychological Needs Scale data; social environmental variable village, the competitors' self-determination needs according to the district, province and majority, the father's level of education in primary and secondary schools, the skill and relationship needs according to the high school and university, the mother's level of education in secondary schools, the relationship needs according to the primary, high school and university, the family income level 800 TL and the lowest level of self-determination needs according to the highest level of education in primary and secondary schools. As a result of the depression measurement data for children, the social environmental variable village of the fighters, according to the district, province and metropolitan, the family income level is 800 TL and those below 800 TL, the depression levels are high compared to those above 800 TL, and the mother and father education level variable is not a significant difference between the depression levels. As a result, it was found that the social environments of the competitors in the training centers, the educational conditions of the parents and the basic psychological needs of the family income levels, the social environment and the family income conditions also influenced the levels of depression.
