Abstract:

Accessibility is a necessary condition for ensuring equal conditions for everyone in the built environment. From the interior to the outer, the design of the built environment usually takes into account the average individuals causes accessibility problems. The provision of equal conditions for everyone in the built environment is undoubtedly achieved by the provision of accessibility. In this regard, the right to education for everyone is also directly related to the accessibility of the built environment. It is extremely important that all fields and elements are accessible and accessible to all individuals that make up the user diversity of educational areas, especially university settlements. In university settlements, concepts such as accessibility for everyone, universal design/capture design or design for everyone have begun to be considered in settlements planning in recent years. In this study, Düzce University has been attempted to reveal the current availability status for disabled users of the Konuralp settlement. As a result of the findings obtained, an accessibility map was created to reveal what the accessibility problems in the campus area are. This study is believed to contribute to the creation of a resource on the identification of the existing accessibility problems in the relevant field and to the creation of a universal understanding of accessibility in the educational fields and the studies that will be done in this way in the university settlements. The final purpose of the study is to reveal the possibilities of accessibility and to create a map of accessibility in this direction.
