Abstract:

Today, with the increase in globalization and commercial liberalization, commercial competition is also quite intense. In these challenging competitive conditions, logistics services carry critical importance in terms of the competitiveness of countries. Countries that maintain their logistics infrastructure and services more effectively worldwide can have better performance in international trade. The aim of this study is to perform a general evaluation of the logistic performances of 139 countries using the Entropy Weighted TOPSIS method, one of the Multi-Criteria Decision Making Methods, to determine the logistic performance rankings, and to present a comparative analysis with the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) rankings published by the World Bank in 2023. As a result of the study, the correlation coefficient was determined as 0.998 according to the Spearman Rho correlation test result between the ranking obtained with the TOPSIS method and the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) ranking. Accordingly, although there are various differences between the two rankings, the rankings generally show consistency with each other.
