Özet:

Robe is defined as "upper garment that worn by instructors" and "wide range of, long and switchless garment that worn by lawyers, professors, reverends and students (in the graduation ceremony)". The first point to the existence of this uniform in the Turkmens of Central Asia, with motifs on the sacred nature of Shamanism has deepened. It’s known that, which means more than the clothes of nature at all times that worn and even today is defined as in the interpretation of dreams "in the expression of longevity and wealth". Nowadays the faculty members in higher education are among occupational groups using a robe. This academic dress consists of robe and epitoj (shoulder scarf) section. With this study carried out to assessment such as color and motif properties in used academic costumes in areasof health sciences(dentistry, pharmacy, healt sciences, medicine and veterinary medicine). The study materials comprise robes in the field of health sciences (dentistry, pharmacy, healt sciences, medicine, veterinary medicine). In the scope of study was determined the universities in Turkey which includes these five faculties (Ankara, Ataturk, Erciyes and Istanbul). In the relevant faculties of these universities, robes of Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors were evaluated that they carry colors and motifs. It stated that examined robes samples of 20 faculties are consist diversity for motifs at the level universities and professions but similarity at the level profession in colors that used and faculties of Ankara University are using a motif that consist university logo. And that were observed there wasn’t different motif (and also a robe) for assistant professor in universities of Ankara, Istanbul and Ataturk; there were different motifs for professors’s and associate professors’s robes. Of the meaning of color and motif manifests also itself in robes that used by academician in the field of health sciences, but could be argued that the value of the robe in the past, today that low.
