Abstract:

When we look at the studies carried out in our country, we see that the teachers and students’ opinions on the lesson books, as well as the parents’ opinions on the lesson books are taken. The purpose of this research is to study the distribution according to the levels of basic mathematical skills (communication, strategy, representation, symbol, judgment, mathematization) of the International Student Assessment Program (PISA) on questions in one of the 8th-class mathematical curricula in use. The method of document examination was used. The book, content and measurement for the study of the questions are divided into two sections in the form of assessment. The source subject to the document review is one of the 8th class mathematics courses used by the Ministry of National Education in the 2017-2018 academic year. Each skill is grouped from 0 to 3 levels. Following the analyses, the findings were thrown into the table under 5 learning fields, and the percentage of distribution in each skill level was given. The study found that in the fields of learning in general, the 6 skills studied also found that questions at lower levels were more placed in the book. Especially the questions at the lower level have been shown to be dominant in the field of learning. According to the results obtained to researchers, "How should we place PISA's basic mathematical skills in five learning fields? “How do these skills differ according to the fields of learning?“They are advised to work on their problems.
