Firmaların finansal performanslarının değerlendirilmesin çok kriterli karar verme yöntemleri yaygın olarak kullanılmaktadır. Bu yöntemler içerisinde TOPSİS ve gri ilişkisel analiz yöntemleri de bulunmaktadır. Bu araştırmanın amacı TOPSİS ve gri ilişkisel analiz yöntemlerinin kullanılarak finansal performans değerlendirilmesinin gerçekleştirilmesi ve her iki yöntemin sonuçlarının karşılaştırılmasıdır. Çalışma kapsamında veri seti olarak Borsa İstanbul (BİST) Ana Metal Sanayi sektöründe 2010-2019 yılları arasında faaliyet gösteren firmalara ait 25 finansal oran kullanılmıştır. Araştırma finansal performans değerlendirmesinde TOPSİS ve gri ilişkisel analiz yöntemlerinin benzer sonuçlar verdiğine dair bulgular elde etmiştir. Araştırma TOPSİS ve gri ilişkisel analiz yöntemlerinin karşılaştırılması ve BİST ana metal sanayi sektörüne uygulanması yönünden literatüre katkı sunmaktadır.
The financial performance of companies is not assessed by multiple criteria decision-making methods are widely used. These methods include TOPSIS and grey relative analysis methods. The purpose of this research is to carry out the assessment of financial performance using TOPSIS and grey relative analysis methods and to compare the results of both methods. In the framework of the study, as a data set, 25 financial rates of companies operating between 2010-2019 were used in the Main Metal Industry sector of Borsa Istanbul (BIST). The research found that in the financial performance assessment, the TOPSIS and the grey relative analysis methods gave similar results. The research provides a contribution to literature in the direction of the comparison of TOPSIS and grey relative analysis methods and the application of BIST to the main metal industry.

In this study, Borsa İstanbul (BİST) Basic Metal Industry sector was used as a data set of 25 financial ratios belonging to companies operating between 2010-2019. The research has found that TOPSIS and gray relational analysis methods give similar results in financial performance evaluation. The research contributes to the literature in terms of comparison of TOPSIS and gray relational analysis methods and its application to the BIST basic metal industry.
