Abstract:

Social entrepreneurship, in which voluntary efforts to create social benefit and value are reflected from a professional perspective, has become a prominent issue in the social sciences literature in recent years. In the literature reviews, it is seen that the subject of social entrepreneurship is mostly mentioned together with areas such as business administration, public administration and labor economy. As it is known, social work discipline conducts studies on issues such as creating social impact, empowering disadvantaged groups, contributing to the solution of social problems, managing scarce resources, taking advantage of opportunities, ensuring sustainability and realizing social change. These stated issues constitute the common working areas that social work shares with social entrepreneurship. It is thought that social work science and profession will increase the area of activity in social entrepreneurship processes in the future. In the context of social entrepreneurship, social work aims to develop in the areas of emancipation, self-esteem and participation in society, as well as the economic self-realization of individuals. The purpose of this review study is to create awareness about the field by concretizing the application areas where social work and social entrepreneurship goals intersect over the world and Turkey samples
