Abstract:

This study aims to study the postgraduate theses carried out between 2015-2019 in the field of four basic language skills from various aspects. The relevant theses under this purpose have been studied according to the fields of basic language skills, the year in which they were written, the university in which they were done, the title of consultant, the relationship between the discussion and the outcome departments. The data obtained in the study was derived using document analysis from bibliometric techniques and qualitative research methods. The theses have been achieved by scanning from the National Thesis Center’s database at the concept and anathematical level. When the concept scan is carried out, the keywords "Turkish, four basic language skills, reading, writing, listening and speaking" are used. The keywords used when scanning are "Turkish, Turkish Education, Turkish Teaching Program, Turkish and Social Sciences Education, Turkish Teaching". As a result of the scan, 198 master's degrees, 47 doctoral theses were obtained. According to the findings obtained, 58 universities in the field of four basic language skills conducted postgraduate thesis studies, 13 of these universities participated in both master and doctoral thesis studies. If you need a master's degree in the doctoral thesis, the most study based on the university has been found to be carried out by the University of Gazi (f=31). It is found that consultants with the most "Doctor's Doctor" title in graduate studies conduct the work. When graduate theses are evaluated on the basis of skills, it has been found that most of the study is related to writing and reading skills, but the least field of skills in which the study is carried out is the ability to listen. As a result, there has been a number increase in both the master and the doctoral thesis, but there has not been a sufficient level of study in the basic language skills of listening and speaking. Recommendations were presented as a result of the work.
