Abstract:

This study aims to adapt the "social identity scale" developed by Cameron (2004) to the Turkish culture as the "social identity scale of the opponent" in line with the determination of the social identity levels of the supporters. There were 284 football fans. In the framework of the study, the verifying factor analysis (DFA) was conducted to test the accuracy of the factor structure of the translated scale. Compatibility well-being values have been studied to determine the conformity of the model resulting from the DFA. The internal-conformity ratio for the lower dimensions is calculated by the Cronbach's Alpha reliability ratio. However, the Pearson Correlation Analysis calculated the proportion of the subdimensions of the scale. As a result of the verifying factor analysis, the conformity well-being index "χ2/df= 1.87, GFI= . The 95, CFI = .96, AGFI = .92, IFI = .96, RMSEA = .56 indicates that these values are in acceptable compatibility values. According to the analyses made, it is clear that the TSKÖ, adapted to the Turkish culture, is a valid and reliable measurement tool.
