Abstract:

Capgras syndrome is a mental belief in the way other persons, objects, who are close to him, are altered by others. This syndrome is more included in the concept of schizophrenia. The treatment of Capgras syndrome is the treatment of the underlying disorder. Atypical antipsychotics used for treatment such as klozapine, risperidon, olanzapin and ketiapine can cause obsessive compulsive symptoms in patients. In this case, if the patient's psychotic symptoms benefit from the existing treatment, the existing antipsychotic treatment will not be interrupted. Instead, another group of drugs that are effective for obsessive compulsive symptoms, such as serotonin reumatoid inhibitors or clomipramine, can be added. In this article, a patient with Capgras syndrome, who was diagnosed with schizophrenia, was to benefit from the treatment of olanzapin. The treatment of Olanzapin has caused obsessive compulsive symptoms in the patient. Obsessive compulsive symptoms have been assessed by the Yale-Brown Obsesion Compulsion Score. The patient has not been given any benefits because it has not been given. Instead, fluoxetine was added to the treatment. The patient’s obsessive compulsive symptoms have been reduced by the addition of fluoxetine to the treatment.
