Rational Drug Usage Behavior of University Students Objective: The aim of this study was to determine rational drug usage behaviour of university students. Method: The population of this study, which had a descriptive crosssectional design, comprised university students who stayed in a woman dorm and a men dorm, the sampling group was formed by 466 university students who were selected by means of convenience sampling. Prior to the initiation of the study, related permissions were taken from the institutions and informed consents were obtained from university students. Data were collected “Student Information Form” which contained individual characteristics and rational drug usage by face to face meetings. Data were analysed using median, percentage and chi-square. Results: 50% of the students were women, their mean age was 21.73±2.68 years, 38.6% of the students were in social science, 86.5% of the students had health insurance, 64.4% did not use smoke cigarettes/alcohol and 89.5% of the students had any chronic disease were determined. 35.4% of the students did not take drug with a prescription and 9.4% of the students did not read drugs prescribed,18.2% the students did not tak the drug timely, 25.7% of the students change drug dose by himself/herself and 27% of the students use drug with advice. Sex, marital status, family types variables were found that rational drug usage behaviour affected statistical significance. Conclusion: There are some deficiencies about rational drug usage of the students. According these results, it is suggested to improve rational drug usage about creation of guidence and counseling program
