Abstract:

Some elements shaped around Ehl-i beyt and their environment have material and spiritual values for Turkish culture. Historical and literary books written on this subject are plenty. Literary works that we can call sensitive historical documents serve as auxiliary resources to science of history. Starting from this point during our literary reading, except some maktel literary works about Karbala and elegies of various poets about ehl-i beyt which is an important part of our cultural inheritance, this article is written with gathering some qasidas and ghazels about ehl-i beyt of these poets. Divans of poets such as Şeyhî, Ahmet Paşa, Necâtî, Bakî, Fuzulî, Ruhî-i Bağdadî, Üsküdarlı Aşkî, Hayalî Bey, Nef‘î, Yahya Bey, Nailî-i Kadim, Şeyh Galip and some other works are used. This article shows that there was love of ehl-i beyt in Ottoman society like it is today, society and poets used to keep ehl-i beyt in their hearts without any prejudices, poignant Karbala event was upsetting Ottoman-Turkish people as other Muslims and this matter is an important concept for poets
