Bir ülkenin dış ticareti, döviz kuru volatilitesi haricinde, birtakım makroekonomik ve finansal faktörlerden de etkilenebilmektedir. Döviz kurlarında artan volatilite, çoğu ülkenin ticaretini doğrudan veya dolaylı şekilde etkilemektedir. Özellikle finansal kriz dönemlerinde, döviz kurlarında meydana gelen aşırı dalgalanmalar, bu etkiyi daha da arttırmaktadır. Ülkeler günümüzde kendi koşullarına göre farklı kur rejimleri uygulamakta ve bu rejimleri zaman içinde sık sık değiştirebilmektedirler. Bu değişiklikler planlı ve belirli bir süreç içinde olabildiği gibi, ekonomi ve mali piyasalarda oluşan baskı ve krizler sonucu aniden de olabilmektedir. Kur değişiklikleri bir yandan dış ticaret ve yabancı yatırımlar diğer yandan da mevcut döviz pozisyonları yolu ile gerek reel sektör gerekse mali sektör üzerinde önemli etkilerde bulunabilmektedir. Globalleşen dünyada mal ve hizmet ticareti ile uluslararası yatırımların artması döviz kuru politikalarının öneminin de artmasına neden olmuştur. Bu çalışma ile, 2004 – 2019 yılları arasında Türkiye’de döviz kuru oynaklığının Türkiye’nin ithalat ve ihracat fiyatlarında yarattığı etki genel ithalat ve ihracat aylık verileri kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir.
External trade in a country can be affected by a number of macroeconomic and financial factors, except exchange rate volatility. The increased volatility of the currency rate directly or indirectly affects the trade in most countries. Particularly during the periods of financial crisis, excessive fluctuations in exchange rates increase this effect even further. Nowadays, countries apply different currency regimes according to their own conditions, and they can change these regimes frequently over time. As these changes may occur in a planned and specific process, they may be suddenly the result of pressure and crises in the economy and financial markets. Currency changes, on the one hand, foreign trade and foreign investments, on the other hand, can have significant impacts on the financial sector by means of existing currency positions. In the globalized world, the increase in trade in goods and services and international investments has also led to an increase in the importance of currency policy. With this study, the impact of the currency rate play in Turkey between 2004 and 2019 on the import and export prices of Turkey has been analyzed using general import and export monthly data.
