Abstract:

In today’s information age, one of the main objectives of communities is to educate qualified and creative individuals in the fields of science, technology and art. In addition to science and technology, art education plays an important role as it contributes to the development of individuals, their creative and sensitive aspects. The general purpose of vocal education in the context of music education, which is a hand of art, is to ensure that students use their voices in the way they speak and sing. The achievement of this objective can be achieved by a qualified understanding of education that will be offered to them. Therefore, it is important to choose effective and efficient teaching methods to be used in the training process. With the use of verbal images as a method in voice education, the development of singing skills will give students the opportunity to use their voices and sing in a healthy way for many years. The teacher-student communication and training process will also be healthier, more efficient and more effective. In this regard, the aim of this study is to explore the impact of verbal images on the music teachers' skills of the candidates to sing. The research was conducted in the 2018-2019 academic year with 10 students who studied in the 1st class in the Music Education Department of the University of Buca on September 9. In the study used the predest-sontest control group model, the performance of students singing at the beginning of the academic year and performance at the end of the semester were evaluated by 2 sound trainer, one of whom was a researcher. The study found that between the results of the pre- and post-experimental evaluation had significant progress in the benefit of the experimental group.
