Abstract:

In Turkey, the work of the Ancient Age, together with the establishment of our Republic, has gained dynamics and has gained formality with the systematic surface research-archaeological excavations. As a result of the studies that have been done in Anadolu so far, many written documents concerning the Asur period have been identified. Due to the lack of a Turkish scientist who was in the first years of the Republic, the first studies on the findings were carried out by foreign scientists. In 1935 the establishment of the Faculty of Language and History-Geography by Atatürk and the establishment of the Sumerology Course in this sense related field of student reception and their training process was initiated. The founding faculty member of this board is Benno Landsberger, a Jewish origin from Germany.
