The Caucasus has been a geography that imperialist powers want to possess due to its strategic location throughout history. The people of the Caucasus have struggled for a long time for their freedoms and independence against the Tsarist Russia, which is targeting the Caucasus and pursuing the spread policy. This struggle ended in the 19th century with the Russian conquest of the North Caucasus. The desire of the Russians to Russialize the territory they obtained, for this reason the pressure and persecution of the people of the Caucasus have caused massive forced migrations. One of the Caucasus peoples who were deported from the northern Caucasus and displaced to various regions of the Ottoman territory is the Cherkes. The squares, in the province of Konya, were intense after the 1877-1878 Ottoman-Russian War. One of the settlements in Konya is today the Ertuğrul Mahallesi connected to the Palace district. In this study, it will be discussed the situation of the Chark (Adige) language in the Ertuğrul neighborhood. The UNESCO World Languages Atlas says at least 43% of the world’s spoken languages are in danger, and the Abhaz-Adige languages from the Caucasus are among the dangerous languages. The main objective of the study in this direction is to identify the percentage of knowledge of the Querkes language in the Ertuğrul Mahallesi, to reveal what causes or reasons it is at risk and to show whether it has reached the scale of language death today.
