Abstract:

The main objective of the study is to determine the impact of the scored curriculum in the English language course on the cross-cognitive awareness of 8th grade students. The research has used the karma method in which quantitative and qualitative research patterns are discussed together. In the quantitative dimension of the research, the application of the scale teaching method, in order to determine the impact of the students on the cross-cognitive consciousness, from the semi-experimental patterns, the pre-test-sontest matched control group patterns; in the qualitative dimension of the research, in order to ensure the diversity of data and make the qualitative findings more understandable, the status study patterns from the qualitative research patterns were used. The study group, Mehmet Akif Ersoy High School, located in Siirt Centre 8. The classroom students consist of a total of 60 students, including 30 experimental, 30 control groups. As a data collection tool in the research, the "Transcendent Awareness Scale" developed by Yurdakul (2004) and the semi-configured conversation form developed by researchers has been used. Meaning tests for qualitative data; illustrative and content analysis for qualitative data. After all, it has been shown that the graduate curriculum activities are student-centric, the previous English lesson activities are teacher-centric, the students choose the activities they can do, how to organize the information during the activities, and where to find the information related to the material. The results of the research were recommended.
