Abstract:

Covid 19 virus has caused changes in many areas of our lives. A series of measures have also been taken in the field of education to reduce the risk of infectious disease, to prevent the spread of the epidemic. In our country, the schools have transitioned to distance education. Teachers who did not experience the process of distance learning before the pandemic were caught unprepared during this process. As an extension of distance learning, online courses have entered the life of teachers and students. The aim of this study is to study the opinions of classmates on the challenges they experience in the online course. The participating group of the study in which the status study method is used from the quality research methods constitutes 16 class teachers who work in a province located in the Eastern Anadolu Region. The data is collected using a semi-configured interview form. The data collected is subject to content analysis. According to the results of the research, teachers have mostly said that students have trouble having access to technological tools and that sub-structure issues such as electricity cuts, internet speed have affected their online classes. It is among the results achieved that teachers cannot create a suitable class environment for students and that the online class performance is down, that teachers are unknown how to measure and evaluate.
