Abstract:

In this study, Roman Graf's novel, Mr. Blanc, focuses on the topics of modernism, individuality and alienation. The purpose of the study is to show how modernism affects the individual by addressing the problem of alienation in the novel. For this, in the study, text-related and text-love approach forms have been used. Roman Graf, one of the most important representatives of today’s Swiss literature, addresses the individual in his novel Mr. Blanc, which can be seen as a small component of society. The graph critically questiones the contradictions caused by the abandoned, on the one hand, that the individual gave up for a safe and regular life, and on the other hand, the contradictions caused by the abandoned. The focus of the criticism directed by Graph is the person who is aware of the mistake, who has the possibility of correction, but nevertheless does not take the risk in the name of not breaking the order, who is not engaged in the solution. 0000-0002-2601-2486
