Abstract:

The objective of the study is to design a information sharing platform (SBPP) in line with the Information Technology (BT) and Software Course curriculum for IT teachers on the Scratch programme; to develop this platform in accordance with the opinions of IT experts (BT) and to obtain the platform assessments of IT teachers candidates. The study is based on the design-based research method. The developed SBPP environment includes general information about Scratch, examples made with Scratch in accordance with the program, frequently asked questions and answers and tools for teachers to share their knowledge and experience with each other. In the evaluation stage of the design-based work, 32 IT teachers candidates participated. Participants’ opinions on SBPP were received through the educational website evaluation form and open-end questions. The data of the study is illustrated. The developed Scratch Information Sharing Platform is recommended to IT teachers in order to acquire assistant curriculum materials about Scratch in their courses. In addition, it is believed that by leading SBPP to form a community of applications for those interested in Scratch applications, it is possible to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and experience, especially among IT teachers.
