Abstract:

In this study, the aim is to determine the optimal tractor power and machine size according to the soil size for the irrigation units located in the Kayseri area. In this context, the product patterns of plants produced in the hydration units are determined for of different sizes. The relevant data on the use of the machine has been obtained to identify the trends of farmers in the irrigation units. The machines and equipment that farmers use in production have been determined and the optimum tractor power and the machine size have been calculated, taking into account the soil sizes. To determine the optimal machine capacity and tractor power, the land size, the number of operable days, the performance values of the machines on the ground and the technical characteristics are taken into account. Using business land size values, the optimal machine capacity required for agricultural processes and the optimal tractor engine power have been determined. As a result; the average power of the existing tractors used in the agricultural land in the Kayseri area was determined to be 53,72 kW. The most demanded optimum tractor power is obtained in the pull used in the first soil processing. Additionally, depending on the average tractor power, the number of tractors required for grapefruit, eggs, sugar beans and vegetables is calculated as 1251, 749, 219 and 54 units respectively.
