The purpose of this research is to study the relationships between the characteristics of psychological stability, cognitive flexibility and emotional regulation of psychological consultants. The research is an imaginary study conducted in the relative scan model. The study group is formed from 236 students who continue their training in the Bachelor's program in guidance and psychological consultancy with the appropriate sampling method. The data of the study was collected with short psychological strength, cognitive flexibility and emotional regulation scales. The Mann Whitney-U Test, which is non-parametric methods in data analysis, has been used by the Spearman Correlation Method and the Kruskal Wallis Test. The interaction between dependent variables has been studied by step-wise method from the submethodes of regression analysis. The findings show that the candidates for consultants do not show a significant difference in terms of dependent variables. However, positive meaningful relationships have been found between the characteristics of psychological stability, cognitive flexibility and emotional regulation. It has been determined that the emotional regulation characteristics both alone and with cognitive flexibility have a significant impact on psychological stability; together they have a higher level of impact. According to the research findings, it is recommended that candidates for psychological consultants be included in their training programs, as well as their professional knowledge and skills, approaches and methods that will support the development of psychological strength, cognitive flexibility and emotional regulation skills.
The aim of this research is to specify the relationships between psychological resilience, cognitive flexibility, and emotion regulation characteristics of prospective psychological counselors. The research was carried on the relational screening model as a descriptive study. In the study, convenient sampling method was used. The study group consisted of 236 students who carried on the undergraduate program of guidance and psychological counseling. Data were collected with the The Cognitive Flexibility Scale, The Short Psychological Resilience Scale, and The Emotion Regulation Scale. In the analysis of data, non-parametric methods were used. The interaction between the dependent variables was examined using the step-wise method, which is one of the regression analysis sub-methods. The findings revealed that the counselor candidates did not differ significantly in terms of the dependent variables. Significant positive relationships were found between psychological resilience, cognitive flexibility, and emotion regulation. Emotion regulation has predictive effects on psychological resilience, both alone and with cognitive flexibility; it was determined that the co-generated effect they created was higher. Findings show that it is important to focus on the development of cognitive flexibility and emotion regulation skills in order to increase the psychological resilience of prospective counselors.
