Abstract:

In addition to the development of technology and the spread of electronic educational tools, painted children’s books continue to try to preserve their place and importance. The impact of books on children is a result supported by many research. Children's painting books increase this effect with their images and designs. In addition to their designs and different text content, these books have been often preferred by parents and teachers in recent years. The children’s attention is highlighted in these books, where the texts and the subjects processed in these texts are highlighted. This study, which aims to determine the level of rights to life, development, protection and participation of children processed in books and texts, used the method of document examination from quality research methods. In the study, the data were obtained from texts with images in the award-winning children's books, which were listed in various prize lists from 2018 to 1963, and analyzed by content analysis method. Statistically, the data analysis used frequency and percentage points. The data collected was divided into categories, after coding thematic classifications were made. The analyzed data was supported by quotes and quantitative results from the books in the work group. The award-winning children’s painting books have established that the rights of the child are consistent with the maximum rights of life, the rights of development, the rights of protection and the minimum participation rights.
