Abstract:

Loss of a loved one, and then the emotions experienced are common excruciating experiences for all people. How you handle this emotional process and to ensure normal life continues after loss is one of the subjects that psychology interests. After the loss a lot of religious people interpret the loss from the perspective of religion they believe, the field that will help in this regard is seen as the area of the science of psychology and religion, in particular as psychology of religion. In this study firstly the term “grief” has been revised in line with the studies done in US, as the origin of the concept and practices, grief process, the characteristics of the person in the grief process, types and counseling are discussed. Secondly, the view of loss from the Islamic point and grief counseling applicability are discussed. In Islamic view of loss, when religious interferences and manners on this issue are assessed grief counseling is also applicable for Muslims, in this area professional studies have been identified as a need also in our country.
