In this study, Feridüddin Attar's Mantıku't-Tayr and Hermann Hesse's Siddhartha texts were brought together and examined in the context of mysticism and literature. The approach to the texts was modeled as a "close reading" technique, and the texts were reinterpreted according to the philosophical doctrines and approaches of Islamic and Buddhist mysticism. In the selection of these texts, it was significant that the both works were covered by the mystical journey of the characters around a real journeying story, and they speak in similar ways with their readers. In this study, the symbols and motifs on these two texts which are explaining different mystical experiences to their readers were examined. This study which is emerged from the interpretation and examination of mystical literature between cultures / religions aimed to provide a new contribution to the field by showing universal reception and personal production over the mysticism of Islam and Buddhism as a researcher working in the field of comparative literature.
