Abstract:

The entrance of tobacco to the Ottoman State and the view of it as a profitable agricultural product has also brought the trafficking with it. In the Ottoman State Tobacco Agriculture, with the control of European states, various policies have been developed, mainly armed measures for the solution of trafficking. But because the problem was looked superficially, it also revealed new problems beyond the solution. The development of tobacco agriculture in the period of the Republic, because it was part of national economic policies, the solution of the trafficking problem was also seen as one of the important topics. But the problem of border security, which could be developed in proportion to the economic power of the state, has not been solved in the short term. This situation has revealed the groups in Turkey who want to benefit from the border trafficking and profitable efforts. The participation of the traffickers in other illegal formations and actions has brought to the forefront tobacco trafficking, which has a widespread use. While the traffickers have developed their own methods over time, they have traditionalized this fact by transmitting their experiences to their families. The most important dimension of the problem is the parallel progress of the trafficking and equality approaches. Ataturk Period Tobacco and Tobacco Trafficking (1923-1938) in my article, which I have prepared by extending from my thesis work titled Tobacco and Tobacco Trafficking (1923-1938) I have tried to study the trafficking, the trafficking routes, the profiles of the traffickers, the effects of homosexuality on the trafficking and the search for a solution to the problem.
