Purpose: This study was aimed at studying the effects of zoledronic acid systematically applied after the osseointegration period on the bone implant contact of titanium implants. In this study, 21 adult female wistar albino rats were included. Tornated surface titanium implants were placed in the corticosteroid bone in the metaphysical parts of the right femur bones of the subjects with surgical methods. The subjects were divided into 3 equal groups: random control (n=7), zoledronic acid dose-1 (n=7) and zoledronic acid dose-2 (n=7) groups. Titanium implants were placed in the right femur bones of the subjects in the control group and no additional procedure was applied for the 8 weeks of experimental arrangement. Zoledronic acid doses-1 (n=7) and Zoledronic acid doses 2 (n=7) were placed titanium implants in the right femur bones of subjects and expected for 4 weeks of osseointegration, and 0.1 mg/kg (doz-1) and 0.2 mg/kg (doz-2) Zoledronic acid was systematically applied a single dose, respectively. After the application of Zoledronic acid, all the rats in the trial groups after a 4-week waiting period - at the end of the 8th week of the trial order, were sacred and the percentage of contact with the bone of the implants was analyzed according to the non-decalcified histological analysis method. Results: The percentage of bone implant contact zoledronic acid was high compared to the controls in the dose-1 and dose-2 test groups applied (P<0.05) while there was no statistical difference between the test groups (P>0.05). Result: According to the limited data of this study, a single dose of zoledronic acid may increase bone implant contact after the osseointegration period.
