İslam’ın tebliğ faaliyetlerini evrensel boyuta taşımaya karar veren Hz. Muhammed, Hudeybiye Barış Antlaşması’nın imzalanmasının hemen akabinde komşu devletlere ve Arap Yarımadası’ndaki bazı kabilelere İslam’a davet mektupları göndermiştir. Hz.

Abstract Prophet Muhammad, who decided to carry the activities of the notification of Islam to a universal dimension, sent letters of invitation to Islam to the neighboring states and some independent tribes in the Arabian Peninsula right after the signing of the Hudaybiye Peace Treaty. The Prophet selected companions with high representation skills and well-equipped for these special duties and invitations. One of these selected messengers is Haris b. Umayr al-Ezdi who was sent to the Busra Emir. All of the messengers who were sent with the mission of invitee and diplomat returned after fulfilling their duties, but Haris b. Umayr was martyred on his way before he could deliver the Prophet's letter to his addressee. Although he was the first messenger martyred for the invitation of Islam, it is seen that there was not enough information about him in the first period Islamic historical sources, and similarly, he was not mentioned much in academic studies today. This article aims to make some determinations and analyzes about Hâris b Umayr and to contribute to Islamic History studies in general and Islamic diplomacy studies that are still in development.
