Abstract:

In this study, the aim is to study the levels of parents' rights of children in the family in terms of various variables. The scan method, which is one of the quantum research methods, was used in the research process. The sample group of the research is formed by the parents of primary and secondary school students studying in the districts of Kastamonu and Taşköprü. The study was conducted by 826 parents. The "Parent's Child Rights Behavior Scale" is a four-dimensional form of personal information and the right to live, develop, protect and participate in the family in order to determine the levels of the parents' rights of the child. The effects of these four dimensions have been studied. In the analysis of data, SPSS 22.0 statistical program was used. Because the data did not show normal distribution, non-parametric methods were used, Kruskal Wallis and Mann Whitney U tests were applied. According to the findings from the study, the level of parents' rights in the family is very high in the dimension of life, participation and protection, and in the dimension of development is very medium. In general, it is clear that parents have a high level of child rights in the family. This outcome shows that parents exercise the rights of the child in the family, except the right to development. The study found that the levels of parents' rights in the family were influenced by various variables.
