Türk Opera Eserlerinin Metinlerinde Yer Alan Fantastik Öge ve Unsurların İncelenmesi

Abstract:

Bu çalışmada Türk opera metinlerinde yer alan fantastik öge ve unsurlar, kökenleri ve örnek eserleriyle incelenmiştir. Opera, bir müzikli dram sanatı olarak, doğduğu günden bu yana ritüelistik, fantastik ya da mitsel öge ve unsurlarla yapılanmış durumdadır. Bu yapının kökeni, çalışmada üç temel kaynakla ilişkilendirilmiştir. Kaynaklar doğrultusunda, Türk opera metinlerinde arasında fantastik ögelerin apaçık görünür olduğu üç Türk operası seçilerek konu, karakter ve olay örgüleri, librettoları temel alınarak incelenmiştir. Bununla birlikte üç Türk operası temsil videoları ve librettoları incelenerek operalarda yer alan fantastik ögelerin yapısal özellikleri değerlendirilmiştir.  Böylece betimsel veri analizi bağlamında nitel bir çalışma gerçekleşmiştir.  Çalışmada incelenmiş olan Türk operaları sırasıyla şunlardır: A. Adnan Saygun’un “Özsoy” Operası, M. Nevit Kodallı’nın “Gılgameş” Operası, H. Ferit Alnar’ın “Midas’ın Kulakları” Operası. Ele alınan bu operalara içkin her bir fantastik öge ve unsurun yapıları ve kullanım biçimleri, eserlerin konularına içkin ritüelistik, mitik, büyüsel veya masalsı yönleriyle temellendirilerek açıklanmak istenmiş ve bu bağlamda bir kavramsal çerçeve oluşturmak amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda operanın fantastik anlatı yöneliminin köken ve nedenleri ile ilgili üç opera eseri üzerinden temel değerlendirmelere ulaşılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, örnek eser olarak ele alınmış üç operanın fantastik unsurların seriminde de aşkınsal ya da soyut düşüncelerin sembolize edildiği anlatımlardan çok, antropomorfik (insan biçimci) bir yaklaşımın ortaya koyduğu temel bir değerlendirmeyle açıklanmıştır. Bu yaklaşımla tutarlı bir şekilde, opera sanatının sıklıkla kaynak olarak başvurduğu Yunan ve İskandinav sagaları üzerine olan eğilimine paralel, Orta Asya ve Orta Doğu yazılı ve sözel kültürüne ait mitler eşlik etmiştir. Bu da Türk operalarına kaynaklık eden metinlerin konu genişliği bağlamındaki büyük yelpazesini, açıkça belirtmiştir.

Review of Fantastic Objects and Elements in the Texts of Turkish Opera Works

In this study, the fantastic objects and elements included in the Turkish opera texts have been studied with their origins and example works. Opera, as a musical drama art, has been built with ritualistic, fantastic or mythical objects and elements since its birth. The origin of this structure has been linked to three main sources in the study. According to the sources, three Turkish operas, in which fantastic objects are clearly visible among the Turkish opera texts, have been selected and studied on the basis of themes, characters and events organizations, librettos. However, the three Turkish opera representative videos and librettos have been studied and the structural characteristics of the fantastic objects in the opera have been evaluated.  Thus, a qualitative study was carried out in the context of visual data analysis. The Turkish operas that have been studied in the study are as follows: A. Adnan Saygun’s “Özsoy” Opera, M. Nevit Kodallı’s “Gılgameş” Opera, H. Ferit Alnar’s “Midas’ Ears” Opera. The structures and ways of use of each fantastic object and element in these operas are intended to be explained, based on the themes of the works by the ritualistic, mythical, magical or fairy aspects, and in this context it is intended to create a conceptual framework. In line with this objective, basic assessments have been achieved on the basis of the three opera works related to the origin and causes of the fantastic narrative direction of the opera. As a result, in the series of fantastic elements of the three opera treated as an example work, it is explained by a basic assessment by an anthropomorphic (human-forming) approach, more than the narrative in which the imaginary or abstract thoughts are symbolized. In consistency with this approach, parallel to the tendency of the opera art to the Greek and Scandinavian sagas, which is often referred to as a source, the myths of the written and verbal culture of Central Asia and the Middle East were accompanied. This also clearly pointed out the vast range of texts derived from the Turkish operas in the context of the subject width.

In this study, fantastic elements and factors in Turkish opera texts were examined with their origins and sample works. Opera, as a musical drama art, has been structured with ritualistic, fantastic or mythical elements and elements since its birth. The origin of this structure has been associated with three main sources in the study. In line with the sources, three Turkish operas, among which the fantastic elements are clearly visible, were selected and analyzed on the basis of their subject, characters, plots and librettos. In addition, the performance videos and librettos of three Turkish operas were examined and the structural features of the fantastic elements in the operas were evaluated. Thus, a qualitative study was carried out in the context of descriptive data analysis. The Turkish operas examined in the study are as follows: A. Adnan Saygun's "Özsoy" Opera, M. Nevit Kodallı's "Gılgameş" Opera, H. Ferit Alnar's "Midas' Ears" Opera. The structures and forms of use of each fantastic factor and element inherent in these operas are aimed to be explained by basing them on the ritualistic, mythical, magical or fairy-tale aspects inherent in the subjects of the works, and in this context, it is aimed to create a conceptual framework. In line with this purpose, basic evaluations have been reached on the origins and reasons of the fantastic narrative orientation of the opera through three opera works. As a result, the three operas, which are considered as exemplary works, are explained with a basic evaluation of an anthropomorphic approach, rather than expressions in which transcendental or abstract ideas are symbolized in the presentation of fantastic elements. Consistent with this approach, the myths of Central Asian and Middle Eastern written and oral culture have accompanied the tendency towards Greek and Scandinavian sagas, which opera art often refers to as a source. This has clearly indicated the wide range of texts that are the source of Turkish operas in terms of subject breadth.
