Background: The increase in the aging population brings along some problems. One of these problems is the necessity of qualified long-term care services. In Turkey, the population 65 years of age has been increased by 21.9% in the last five years, and the proportion of elderly population is predicted to be 10.2% in 2023 and 25.6% in 2080. In this context, the importance of home health care services is gradually increasing. Home health care services is defined as a service provided by a professional team to individuals who need home health care due to various diseases. In this study, it is aimed to determine the level of the home health services quality standards of an education and research hospital. Method: This descriptive study was conducted to determine the level of fulfillment of home health care quality standards and evaluation criteria. Home health care services quality standards included in the "Health Quality Standards Hospital - Version 6" set published by the Ministry of Health were used as data collection tools. Microsoft Excel was used for assessment of data. Results: In the study, three self-assessments were carried out in a certain period to determine the level of fulfillment of home health care services quality standards of the training and research hospital. First self-assessment results were as follows; 3 of 10 standards are not met, 4 standards are partially met, 3 standards are found to be met. Corrective action studies have been initiated for the defects detected after self-assessment. Then, a second self-assessment was made; 1 of 10 standards is not met, it has been determined that 3 standards are partially met. After the improvement works, the third self-assessment was made and it was seen that only 1 standard was partially met. Home health care self-assessment scores were found to be 47.2 and72.2, and the last self-assessment score was 94.4. Conclusion: In home health care services, creating a quality culture, self-assessment and quality improvement is very important. In conclusion, we can say that with the aging population, home health care services have become increasingly important in our country in recent years. As in all units of hospitals, it is recommended to develop quality improvement policies covering the entire hospital by self-assessment by the hospital management in order to fully meet the quality standards in the provision of home health care services.
