Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to study the levels and opinions of the candidate teachers studying at the Faculty of Education. For this purpose, the template pattern was preferred from the karma method research. Quantitative data of the study were collected through the Google Form during the 2021-2022 training and teaching period, while qualitative data was collected by researchers through conversations with participants. In the quantitative size of the study, the "Water Reading Level Identification Survey" developed by the Speaker and Turker (2020) has been used to determine the level of water literacy of the candidate teachers. The data was collected with interview questions developed by researchers for the quality size of the research. The study included 159 teachers candidates and 27 teachers candidates. Imaginary analysis was preferred in the analysis of the quality data collected in the study. The quantitative data obtained in this study was analyzed through the statistical package program. The data was entered in the program and the materials included in the scale as reverse matter were scored differently. The results of the study were normally tested. As a result of the analysis of the data, the scalability in all scales is between -.17 and .19, and the pressure is between -.56 and .38. The t test was applied for the gender variable of the answers given to each of the scales of the example. Similarly, one-way variance analysis for the field of study for each scale, the mother’s educational status, the father’s educational status variants has been applied. The study found that female teacher candidates have a high level of water literacy compared to male teacher candidates, that the mother and father education levels have an impact on water literacy, and that among the teacher candidates who are studying in the field of Social Information Education and Classroom Education have a higher level of water literacy compared to other teacher candidates. Also, teachers candidates believe that the unconscious use of water and the most important measure to be taken should be the awareness of the society’s water shortage.
