Paste (electuary) is a semi-solid preparation with various contents such as plant extracts or powder by mixing the honey or syrup, for thousands of years. It has a lot of effective compounds (polypharmacy) that are carefully selected and according to many scientists it is the pinnacle of pharmacy. Ibn Sina mentioned which is strengthened a portion of the drugs that treat some diseases by the addition of other herbs that the synergistic effect in "el-Kanun fi’t-Tıbb". Therefore, it is determined the most appropriate formulation experimentally and honey is used to improve and ensure long shelf life. The most famous King VI. Mithradates of Dynasty Mithradates developed "mithridaticum" which is a famous antidote against poisoning, this mixture undergoes some changes in Anatolia and it was named as "mesir paste" in later centuries. Ibn Sina mentioned a list of 74 pastes composition for different diseases at "the Antidotes and Pastes" in "el-Kanun fi’t-Tıbb". Şerafeddin Sabuncuoğlu mentioned that compositions of 6 theriacs, 33 pastes in "Mücerreb-name" (15th century). It was reported paste composition for sexual problems in "Mecmua-i Mu’alece" (17th century). Health protective pastes in "Ferheng-i Şuuri" and "Ta’dil-i Emzice" (17th century) were written by Suuri Hasan Çelebi. "Rose pastes" which are produced fresh rose petals with sugar or honey for stomach and liver treatment as a protector in many Ottoman medical books. Various paste compositions are also given in "Mecmûatü'l-Mesâil", "Mecmûa-i Eşâr", "Muhtasar-ı Nidâî", "Menâfiu'n-Nas", "Rü’ya-nâme", and "er-Risâletül-Hanefîye"
