Abstract:

This research was carried out to investigate the effect of jigsaw IV technique on students’ academic success and attitude towards the lesson in the processing of the acquisitions of the production, consumption and distribution learning areas in the 7th grade social studies course. The research was carried out with 39 students from 7th grade students of Asımın Nesli Anatolian Imam Hatip High School located in Nazilli district of Aydın province in the 2020-2021 academic year. In the research,experimental design with pre-test,post-test and control group was used.Academic achievement test and social studies attitude scale were determined as data collection purposes. In the study,which was planned for 5 weeks, the jigsaw IV technique, was applied to the experimental group and the current curriculum of the school was applied to the control group. The data obtained from the experimental and control groups were analyzed using the SPSS 22.0 program.In the study, it was concluded that the jigsaw IV technique significantly increased the academic achievement of the students in social studies teaching and positively affected their attitudes towards the course, according to the teaching and activities in the current curriculum
