İletişim fakültelerinde nasıl bir eğitim verilmesi gerektiği sorusu bu eğitimin başladığı günden bugüne dünyada olduğu gibi ülkemizde de tartışma konusudur. Geçmişte ve literatürde farklı yaklaşımlar çerçevesinde bu eğitimin nasıl olması gerektiğine ilişkin pek çok görüş mevcuttur. Buna bağlı olarak da iletişim eğitimine ilişkin kimi eleştiriler söz konusudur. Bu çalışmada Anadolu Üniversitesi İletişim Bilimleri Fakültesi öğrencilerinin üniversite, fakülte ve bölümlerine ilişkin genel görüşleri tanımlanmaya çalışılmıştır. Gönüllü katılım esasıyla 19-23 Mart 2018 tarihleri arasında gerçekleştirilen anket uygulamasına 612 öğrenci katılmıştır. Ankette öğrencilere tercih, algı, değerlendirme ve beklentilerine yönelik 45 soru yöneltilmiştir. Genel olarak öğrencilerin fakülteye istekli olarak geldikleri, fakülteyi sosyal, farklı, çağdaş, aktif ve dinamik buldukları, bölümü tanımlayan sıfatların %84,4’ünün pozitif bulunduğu, ancak kimi öğrencilerin fakülte aidiyeti, bölümde verilen dersler, mesleğe yönelik yeterlikler ve gelecekle ilgili beklentileri noktasında önemli düzeyde eleştiri ve kaygılarının bulunduğu söylenebilir. Veriler literatürde iletişim eğitimine yönelik eleştirilerle örtüştüğü gibi ülkenin içinde bulunduğu durumla da ilişkili görülmüştür. Bunun yanında veriler iyileştirilmesi gereken alanların neler olduğuna dair önemli ipuçları sağlamaktadır.
The question of how to provide education in the Communications faculty is a topic of discussion in our country as it is from the beginning of this education to the present day. In the past and in literature, there are many views on how this education should be in the framework of different approaches. There are some criticisms about communication education. In this study, it was tried to identify the general views of the students of the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the University of Anadolu on the university, faculties and departments. 612 students participated in the survey, which was carried out between 19-23 March 2018. The survey addressed students 45 questions about their preferences, perceptions, evaluations and expectations. In general, 84.4 percent of the degrees that define the department are positive, but some students can be said to have a significant level of criticism and concerns in terms of faculty membership, courses given in the department, professional skills and future expectations. The data in literature has been linked to the situation within the country as well as the criticism of communication education. In addition, the data provides important clues about what areas need to be improved.
