Bu çalışma Erzurum’da kenti tanıyan, kentte yaşayan ve ketteki turizm aktiviteleri konusunda bilgi sahibi olan uzman gruplarına yönelik SWOT Analiz tekniği kullanılarak yapılmıştır. Yapılan analizle kenttin turizm potansiyeline yönelik güçlü ve zayıf yönler ile gelecekte oluşabilecek fırsatlar ve tehditlerin neler olabileceği belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Örneklem büyüklüğü hesaplanarak toplam 96 kişiyle birebir yapılan anket çalışmasının sonuçları SPSS programında analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan çalışmaya göre kentin zengin kültürel dokuya sahip olması, Palandöken Dağı ve kış turizmine yöenelik modern tesislerin bulunması, şehrin tarihi ve kültürel yapısı, doğa turizmine yönelik artan ilgi gibi pek çok kriter, çalışmada fırsatlar ve güçlü yönler olarak belirlenmiştir. Zayıf Yönler ve tehditler arasında ise Doğal ve tarihi güzelliklerin ulusal ve uluslararası düzeyde yeterince tanınmaması, çevre ve kent estetiğinin yetersizliği, Bilinçsiz turizm aktiviteleri kentin doğal, kültürel yapısını tehdit etmesi, altyapı imkânları ve turistik işletmelerin istenilen düzeyde gelişmemiş olması yer almaktadır. Çalışma sonucunda, turizmin sürdürülebilir, katılımcı planlama anlayışıyla yapılması, yerel halkın geleneksel yapısının korunarak bu sürece entegre edilmesi, turizm erişim noktalarının belirlenerek uygun planlamaların yapılması gibi pek çok konuda önerilerde bulunulmuştur. Erzurum kenti hem kent merkezi hem de yakın çevresinde sahip olduğu doğal ve kültürel zenginliklerle turizm açısından oldukça önemli bir potansiyele sahiptir. Özellikle kentin yakın çevresindeki dağlık alanlar, değişken topoğrafik ve etnik yapı, kültürel çeşitlilik, iklim özellikleri, bölgenin biyolojik çeşitlilik açısından zenginliği, kentin markası durumunda olan tarihi ve turistik yapılar, kış turizminin cazibe merkezlerinden biri olan palandöken dağı bu zenginliğin en önemli parçalarını oluşturmaktadır. Ancak bu kadar olumlu etkenin yanında, yeterince tanıtım ve turizm planlamasının yapılamayışı, kaynakların etkin kullanılmayışı, turizm alanında kentin istenilen kalkınma düzeyine ulaşamaması gibi olumsuz etkenler de söz konusudur.
This study was conducted using SWOT Analysis technique for specialists who recognize the city in Erzurum, who live in the city and who are aware of tourist activities in the coast. The analysis has been made to determine what the strong and weak aspects of the city’s tourism potential and what the opportunities and threats could occur in the future. The results of the survey conducted by a total of 96 people, calculated by the sample size, were analyzed in the SPSS program. According to the study, the city has a rich cultural texture, the location of modern facilities in the Palandöken mountain and winter tourism, the city's historical and cultural structure, the increasing interest in natural tourism, many criteria, opportunities and strengths in the study have been determined. The weaknesses and threats include the lack of sufficient recognition of natural and historical beauty at the national and international level, the lack of environmental and urban aesthetics, the unconscious tourism activities threaten the city's natural and cultural structure, the infrastructure possibilities and the lack of development of tourism
The city of Erzurum has a great potential in terms of tourism with its natural and cultural richness both in the city center and in its vicinity. Especially mountainous areas in the vicinity of the city, variable topographic and ethnicity, cultural diversity, climate characteristics, richness of the region in terms of biodiversity, historical and touristic structures that are the brand of the city, palandöken mountain, which is one of the attraction centers of winter tourism, constitute the most important parts of this wealth. However, in addition to such positive factors, there are some negative factors such as the lack of publicity and tourism planning, the inefficiency of the resources and the inability of the city to reach thedesired level of development. This study was carried out by using SWOT Analysis technique for the expert groups who knew the city in Erzurum and who had knowledge about tourism activities in the city. With the analysis, it is tried to determine the strengths and weaknesses of the city's tourism potential and the opportunities and threats that may occur in the future. The results of the survey, which was conducted with one-to-one person, was analyzed by SPSS program. According to the study, many criteria such as the city's rich cultural texture, the presence of modern facilities on the Palandöken Mountain and winter tourism, the historical and cultural structure of the city, and the increasing interest in nature tourism have been determined as opportunities and strengths in the study. Weaknesses and threats include not recognizing the natural and historical beauties at the national and international level, lack of environmental and urban aesthetics, unconscious tourism activities threatening the natural, cultural structure of the city, infrastructure facilities and not being developed at the desired level. As a result of the study, suggestions were made on many issues such as sustainable tourism, understanding of tourism, preserving the traditional structure of local people, integrating this process, determining tourism access points and making appropriate plans.
