Abstract:

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to evaluate the mid-term results of an adult patient with a diagnosis of AO type C distal humerus fractures with surgery.  Patients and Method: In our backward study, AO type C distal humerus fractures were diagnosed in 20 patients (12 women, 8 men, an average age of 44.3) with posterior approach, and the diagnosis was applied with olecranon chevron type osteotomy and Paralel Plak Viday. The average observation period of cases was 74 months (56-94 months). The results were based on the Mayo Elbow Performance Score (MEPS) and the Disabilities of the Arm Shoulder and Hand (DASH).  Results: Categorically with MEPS; 6 facts are very good, 10 facts are good, 2 facts are medium, 2 facts are bad. The patient’s movement range was 125.3 degrees and the average extension loss 13.8 degrees. In 75% of patients, the openness of movement was 30°-130° or greater than the functional openness of movement. According to the DASH survey, the average score was 7.2. Radiologically, in the middle period, no patient found arthrosis in the rectum and implant relief.  The result: AO type C distal humerus fractures can be said to be an acceptable surgical technique for the detection with olecranon osteotomy and parallel plaque vida.
