Abstract:

In terms of first-time encounter with the basic technical and musical behaviors necessary to play the clarinet, the beginning of the clarinet training is a sensitive and important period for both the student and the teacher. In the courses that take place during this period, the teacher’s approach and the materials he prefers have a positive impact on the efficiency of the process and the student’s comfort. The teacher’s ability to include breathing, swelling, finger and language techniques, as well as a material that can also attract the student’s interest, can make it easier and faster for the student to develop his clarinet playing skills. When the relevant literature is scaned, there is a lot of clarinet methods written for the beginning of the clarinet training. In this context, it is intended to study and evaluate the methods selected (f=17) through a simple, non-selective sampling method in terms of basic technical and musical behaviors. The research has used a document analysis model from the quality research methods. The research results assessed the state of the initial-level clarinet methods in terms of various behaviors and elements, and included recommendations for researchers and clarinet educators.
