Modern Mısır edebiyatında siyasî atmosferin gölgesinde şekillenen sosyal hayatı, dönemin başat tipleriyle kurguladığı romanlarla okuyucuya yansıtan toplumcu gerçekçi yazarlardan biri olan Asvânî, Yakupyan Apartmanı adlı romanında, 1952 Devrimi sonrası Mısır’ın değişen yapısına rağmen, değişmeyen gerçeklerine vurgu yapar. Yazar, Körfez krizinin yaşandığı doksanlı yıllarda, devrim öncesi toprak ağaları ve yabancı sermaye sahiplerinin ikamet yeri olan Yakupyân Apartmanının devrim sonrası el değiştiren sahipleriyle, siyasî ve sosyal hayattaki kazanımlara dikkat çekerken, okuyucuyu, temelde değişmeyen gerçeklerle yüzleşmeye davet eder. Yazar, daire sahipleri ya da kiracılarla çatı katı sakinlerinden oluşan binada, Mısır toplum hayatının bir minyatürünü oluştururken, farklı tabakadan insanların yaşamlarını okuyucuya yansıtma imkânı bulur. Geçmişe işaretle geleceği inşa etmeye çalışan yazarın söz konusu romanı, toplum hareketine kazandırdığı ivme ile Mısır baharının düşünsel yapı taşlarından biri sayılır.
The social life shaped in the shadow of the political atmosphere in modern Egyptian literature, Asvani, one of the socialist-realist writers who reflects the reader with the novels he established with the primary types of the period, in his novel named the Apartment of Yakupyan, emphasizes his unchanged facts, despite the changing structure of Egypt after the 1952 Revolution. In the nineteenth years of the Gulf Crisis, the author invites the reader to face essentially unchanged facts, while attracting attention to the achievements in political and social life, with the hand-changing owners of the post-revolutionary Yakupyân Apartment, which is the place of residence of pre-revolution land networks and foreign capital owners. In the building consisting of roof-hard residents with the authors, apartment owners or rents, Egypt finds the possibility to reflect the lives of people from different layers to the reader, while forming a miniature of society life. The novel of the writer who tries to build the future with a sign of the past is one of the thought-building stones of the Egyptian spring with the impulse it has given to the community movement.
Aswany who is the author written in the modern Egyptian literature inspired by the facts of the social and political processes through the country, emphasizes the unchanging facts, despite the changing political structe of Egypt after the 1952 Revolution in his novel. The author invites the reader to confront essentially unchanging facts while drawing attention to political and social achievements with the post-revolutionary owners of the Yacoubian Apartment, landowners and foreign capital owners, in the nineties when the Gulf crisis was experienced. The author has influenced the thought structure of the Egyptian Spring. The novel, which tries to build the future with a mark on the past, is considered to be one of the intellectual origin of the Egyptian Spring with the acceleration it has gave to the social movement.
