Abstract:

The study aims to examine the perceptions of refugee children about the game through pictures. In the study, the study group was determined according to the measurement sample. In this context, a study group was created taking into account the criteria "Do not come from Syria because of the war", "Do not reside in the Hatay province" and "Be volunteer to participate in the work". For this purpose, the research included 32 (E=16; K=16) refugee children who continued to primary school first class in the 2019-2020 educational year at the Hatay province center, and who have migrated to Hatay province due to war in the last year. The children’s family and their demographic data are obtained from their personal files. In the study, the children were given the instructions "Do you draw for me the picture of a game you like to play?" Children have no time limit, children have been asked to tell their pictures, the words about the pictures of children who have completed their work have been recorded separately. In this process, it was supported by an independent translator and a guidance and psychological consultant. The obtained data is processed with the QSR NVivo 10 computer program in accordance with the quality data analysis. Imaginary analysis techniques are used in solutions. As a result, it is seen that children use almost all the colors, draw the parts that carry the traces of the war more clearly and are happy.
