Abstract:

The changing time and developing technology have profoundly affected the health sector as well as all sectors. The competition between the healthcare institutions has also strengthened with the entry into the market. In this environment where traditional management techniques failed, strategic management techniques have also been a rescue for health institutions managers. The aim of this study is to measure the level of knowledge of healthcare institutions managers about strategic management techniques, to identify the strategic management arguments they use more intensely and more frequently, and to reveal the level of satisfaction with them. The universe of study (n=111) is formed by Sivas or health managers. The data collection method is used as a data collection tool. 53.7% of participants have been trained in strategic management, with the three strategic tools they know most compared with 96.3% of mission and vision expressions, 93.8% of total quality management and 90.2% respectively. The first three tools that their managers are most satisfied are total quality management (X =4.47), mission and vision expressions (X =4.44), social media tools and the internet (X =4.25).
